I'll see if I can find the paper on Rick's website.

I'm as hesitant to use the Office plugin as SVG, I'm morer confident that the users have IE6 available, but they may not have Office installed.

I got a decent first cut done this weekend with VFP generating the VML directly. I'll have to post a couple of examples over on my website later tonight.

If I remember correctly (don't get too excited, I'm not 100% sure if my memory is accurate here), there's a technique that would allow you to create those report card graphs via Excel across the internet. Or perhaps you could automate Excel, produce the equivalent graphs, copy to an image file, and serve up the image files vs. spreadsheets?
