Here's another idea you shouldn't fall for: "abstinence is best protection." Wrong. It has the highest of failure rate when compared to other methods. Primaily because it is soley dependant on the individual making a decision. Idealoges will argue that this is not a failure of 'abstinence only' but offer a "we told you so" blame for the individual. For these idealoges, their love of their own beliefs is more important than the actual humans that must indure them. So 'abstinence only' works until it doesn't work -- but then you get to blame the individual keep the idea sacred. Right.
