Wow! That's quite a step forward you've made... and a great one I might add. Great planning on your part and a great question as well. What you've done is like what the tailor does: Measures twice and cuts once.

Creating your own user control library is a great idea. Some things to consider would be if you're planning on resuing the controls in another project. Also, will other users be using your controls? If it's just you keeping them in the same project isn't a bad idea - however, if you have other users you may want to give them the assemblies instead of the whole project. Of course that's all depending on the level of expertise and the input the others may have in the project.

I wish I had more information about your environment to be able to answer the question more percise. But I do hope what I provided helps in your decision.
