In addition to what Craig said, it would be easier for distributions if everything was in an mtdll including reporting. It does work in the COM exe workaround but it makes everything more cumbersome. When I asked about this when VFP9 was in beta, I believe they said it would be too hard to make the VFP report writer truly multi-threaded in a vfp mtdll..
