Very true all that, Craig, but...
If what transpired since ClaudeF asked for some support to keep the work going on his FREE product - constant ridicule by the PA Crew - results in ClaudeF being banned, people will soon reason that the rules aren't to their liking and look elsewhere.
In other words, one reaps what one sows, and if one sows censorship with quick banning, people will leave and the business will reap bankruptcy.

I can say this... I just paid for another 18 months of membership and I understand that I have no recourse to get any of the $$ back even if the rules change around here and I feel I have to leave. That may keep some around longer than they otherwise might stay.
But from now on (well, 17 months from now) I plan to buy the minimum period sold.
