Hello,

i'd understand your problem ..

you'll now have something like this as a table structure:

computername C(50), description M, port I

and have duplicate records for each COM port there is (i think max of 4 on every standard PC) like

Computer1 someDescription 1 .. other data
Computer1 someDescription 2
Computer1 someDescription 3

am i right?

the problem is i that i can't give you any advice on presenting this info to the user since i didn't even know the very purpose of the application you're writing .. besides that it display's COM port information ..

i think that you have to take this decision's on your own since your're the 'guru' of your app and should know best what it should look & behave like ..

if you have any generic technical questions about using controls, databinding ,database design ... i'll can probably help you with these,
but design issues of your app are out of my scope ..

Regards
Christian
