Hi Jos,

>express their opinion on what they think is the best treeview control for VFP9 and why?
IMHO wrong question to ask. TV's can become problems when using them for oodles of data.
But in all situations I encountered it was more a problem of the underlying control mechanisms than of the TV itself. Especially if data-driven, dynamically deciding on if/when to use or fill "phantom nodes" and or decide on display some of the nodes expanded and so on...

>I want to create a docked window containing a treeview like in Outlook.
Since this is not really "data" in a mass sense I guess it makes no difference <g>

>Must be able to add nodes and children, etc.
I've not done much with TV's lately, but was very impressed when I built a totally data driven structure with the dbi tools. I came in late in the game and they had switched to dbi after getting lost with MS TV. But I guess I could have built the same functionalty with MS. I'ld make my decision more on the intended audience (less hassle of installing...) if not deploying to a tightly controled scenario [in house/with company admins...]. If you are going the "cheaper" way with MS, buy a book with some good examples.

even then: look around for examples on how to control any TV and create a thin wrapper around the activeX - if you need to switch, it is easy.
