I posted the below message about a year and a half ago and have checked the items that were mentioned in the replies. We are still periodically experiencing the same issue and was just posting agin in the event there are any new ideas as to what to check for.

Very infrequently during program execution a very few clients receive an error where an error box pops up stating that a file is read only. This has occurred in the same app compiled in VFP6 and VFP8. In some instances the error box says "File c:\documen~1\locals~1\temp\???????/.tmp is read only" where the ????????? is a randomly generated file name (like when a cursor is created). In other cases the path for the file name is our application start directory.

We have our config.fpw tmpfiles setting to our application start directory. We cannot recreate the error and it only occurs in approximately 2-3 clients very infrequently out of over 250.

Anyone have any ideas?
