You will need to create a Header file with topic ids. For instance, this is mine:
#DEFINE HH_STARTPAGE				1
#DEFINE HH_KNOWNISSUES				3

#DEFINE HH_TECHNICALSUPPORT			900
Next, go into the HTML help compiler and go to the MAP section and add in your help.h file.
Then, go to the ALIAS section in the HTML Help Compiler and set your aliases. Here your just using the constants your defined in your help.h file and mapping them to your topic files.
