I hope you didn't progress too far in the use of General fields. Precisely because it is difficult to get data OUT of the General field is one of the main reasons cited for NOT using the General fields, at least not for pictures. The other reason is that storage space gets inflated tremendously - a 50 KB JPEG file might use 1 MB of space, for example.

The recommended alternatives are:

(1) Leave the image in a JPEG file (or one of the other supported formats; for VFP 6, this is JPEG, GIF and BMP).

(2) Use a memo binary field.
