From what little Italian I understand, I think you should have translated "come" with "how", not "as". "As" is for comparison, for a role: "come un bambino" - "as a child", but "come stai" - "how are you"...

You remind me of myself ten years ago when I was using Hungarian - a languaged that I learned just enough to fool people to think I am speaking it. And I recognize the mistakes I made. Had a number of good laughs there, at my own expense :).
