I had the exact same problem,until I updated my Video card driver. In my case I am using a Diamond Stealth 2000 Turbo. I went to the Diamond site and d/l'ed their newest driver. All is well now.

You may be able to Isolate your problem by going into the Windows 95 Control panel/Display and selected the Generic Microsoft SVGA driver. Then see if you are still losing your reosurces.
