see his answer to my question. I'll have the big machines free on tuesday
and check out under different boot.ini - configs.

I'll post the slightly altered code afterwards -
you'll probably tweak to mirror your setup / problem areas and
see for yourself. At the moment I see some clear trends, but
the percentages already depend on table size, key expression
and action I am performing.

Do you happen to know if .idx still gives trouble in private DS / Transaction
scenarios ? I ran against that ages ago, read a description of the problem
in kilofox and kept out of idx from that time on,
but never verified the continued existance of these issues in current vfp.
