LOL... I was here in the beginning in 1996, I provided help, then the thread deteriorated to the point where most of the posts are crying and complaining about someone or the other. Very little real help is available (outside of Sergei and crew). Post an esoteric problem here, request a solution, and wait for ever. Most of the help here is for the newbie programmer. When someone really needs help, there usually is very little available.

There was a serious question about VFP and word 2003 interop here last week. What was the help? Squat, zippo, nada. That's what I'm talking about. I have talked at length with the poster off of this forum and the only help he got was "its a compile tim problem, don't worry about it". I have great respect for the person that posted that answer, but it was so far off the mark, it wasn't helpful.

Claude was not a helper, Claude was here to promote his product, that's all. JVP had more knowledge of foxpro in his left big toe most of the people here in this forum. Anyway these forums arent' about VFP, its about people making themselves feel good.

BTW, post 4 or 5 of your helpful answers to some tough problems.

>How can we compare JVP ban to Claude's? In the years I was "sharing" the UT with JVP, I barely saw JVP helping the Foxpro community, just berating, insulting, preeching, and less than 1% answers to technical questions. In my opinion, banning him had no effects whatsoever in the Foxpro community in this forums, which it's main goal is to help people solve programming problems, on the contrary, it helped reducing the noise He created. Claude case is completely different, he was an active helper in the foxpro community, not only by providing answers, but also with a product that had several thousands downloads, so I do not see how can we compare them, the only thing they share is the banning.

>That does not mean Claude shouldn't have been banned, it is not up to me, for one I do not know what happened in the PMs exchange between him and the UT admins, and FWIW, I think his behaviour (provoked or not) was out of line in some of his latest posts, but I think the same of John Baird's posts, and He was not banned at all, and to be sincere, He is just a pain in this forums, contributing nothing at all in all his years in this forums, all noise, all insults and "LOL'S", it is frankly disturbing to see his behaivour here in a forums of "professionals"
