Hungarian notation is a reference to Charles Simonyi, the credited lead designer of Microsoft Word. The gist of it is variable names are prefixed by characters indicating type and scope. Alan Griver brought the naming convention to the FoxPro world.

I think "reverse Polish" is the same naming convention but am not sure.

Should we have a spirited debate about the pros and cons of Hungarian notation, if for no other reason than to get our minds back on technology?
