Another possibility is that you have both VFP 8.0 and 9.0 open at the samethime. If you modify the Main.prg in one, it maybe being cached. Then when you attempt to save it from the other version, it is seeing as still being handled in the first.

Also, If in fact the .BAK is the problem, you can tell VFP (both) to not create the back of the file.

1. Open the Main.prg
2. Right-click the Main.prg editor and select Properties
3. Check the checkbox "Make backup copy"
4. Also, check the "Save Preference" checkbox.
5. Uncheck the "Apply to PRG files"

This will prevent the Main.prg from creating the backup file when saving.
