(it's not using the form's viewport as one would ordinarily think of it in VFP as the blueprints are much too big - approaching 10000 x 10000 pixels in size).
As long as we understand that we can use standalone scroller or slider classes to move oversized containers inside a form or container we can avoid the viewport limitations.

you can bring up as many blueprints at one time as you want and work on all of them simultaneously, rotate them, zoom them, set different scales on them, estimate a couple thousand different items on them... run out reports, excel exports, search the net for more blueprints (construction projects), send requests for bids to other contractors, etc. The app can be as intense or as simplistic as the user working it.
Amazing! The static screen shot teases to be shown dynamically in a 2MB mpg.

I feel it's a good example of what is possible with VFP these days.
Its a great example! We need to know and see that any percieved limitations regarding VFP are not the fault of VFP's paradigm.

It would be neat to see an animated drive through - even if only 20 or 30 seconds. I bet there are some other projects out there (even nonsense-icle interfaces) powered by VFP that are outside our everyday perceptions of what we think we can or can't do.

Your screen shot made my day! Maybe we can lobby Michel for some space that would allow some "on-pager" flyers of some of the exciting and sexy things that are being done by VFP developers. We had some good stuff in the UT magazine ages ago. Maybe MPG download capabilities evun!

The story needs to get out. There is nothing to be ashamed of. VFP will let us take it as close to the edge as our endurance and imagination will allow. Your project is proof of that - and I bet there are a few more out there that would add pudding to the pie. I think I'll risk an IE log-on and go check out Ryan's link!

Leave the link if you can. Maybe Michel could be convinced to add a showcase room to the UT. It would be great for all of us. Great for our VFP lobbying efforts and great to assure those trampled by the playing of the "inferiority card" that they have nothing to be ashamed of and everything to look forward to!

Thanks for the shot and follow up - it's rare to see an interface like that from a "small" shop. And even rarer to see (or admit) it was done in VFP. You should be proud. I'm sure others are blasting the sleepers out of their eyes when they see it.

Dimitry's link was also very sexy. A "content" view point enhances and brings balance the quest!:-) But I can't remember how the controls were laid out in his offer! I better go back and refamiliarize myself with the technical details of his URL.
Imagination is more important than knowledge
