I finally had to do this for an eval product (my business - err paying customers) sometimes ask I leave the fox they see on the menu during testing (they think he/she is cute!).

In VFP 6 - the setup wizard had an entry for icon.

With VFP 8, the Project Dialog at BUILD EXE, use Ctrl+J opens a properites dialog. There is a button that opens a getpict() dialog for you to select an icon. I don't even know what size the icon is - but it shows on the exe, the submenu and the add/remove programs service.

When you work it through InstallShield, you can assign your EXE as the ICON file in the menu shortcut and also the "Send" Shortcut. It automatically assumes index 0 for the ICON file.

I typically use a PRG to build the project and exe, but because I needed the icon - I went through the wizard. If you come across code that I can use to assign the icon with a PRG build - by all means - let me know!
