Like Josh said, VB is a good start. I would say 80% of the langauge is very much like VFP. Where you may get hung up in VB is the IDE. The VB is very clumsy IMHO. This is all related to middle tier stuff BTW. For UI stuff, I would start studying the subject of DHTML and XML at great length. Lets put it this way, DHTML is more OO than VB is right now. It is truly amazing what you can do with IE and DHTML.
