I let users create their own worddocs, with their own layouts, fonts, colors, watermarks, images, blah blah blah but they use BOOKMARKS that are data elements from the application. I think this is more flexible than having your app create the entire document. It gives control of the doc to the users.
There is a long list of valid bookmarks they can use. They compose the doc and insert the bookmarks where appropriate. Something like: Dear [CLIENTNAME]: Our records show that your last order on [LASTORDERDATE] has not yet.....
So the VFP/WORD automation starts MSWord in the background, opens the doc, performs the bookmark sub, saves the doc to a new file (if requested), prints it, emails it, then closes the original template doc discarding the mods so that it can be used again.
Just another approach....
