Mike;
The Republican form of Democracy is interesting. We elect someone to represent us. There is a great deal of passion before an election and then when someone gets into office it is anyone’s guess how that person will vote.
1. Does the elected politician owe something to the viewpoints of those that elected him/her?
2. Do many people (as a percentage) vote?
3. Do many people care?
I still have the hope that my idealistic view of our political system will someday be realized. Represent the interests and well-being of the people who voted you into office.
It seems interesting how so many do nothing politicians are reelected time after time with the same results. Perhaps it says volumes about the average voter! :)
