I wish!! Sorry, it was a joke (I thought obvious with the mention of Kirk's ancestor). But seriously, it may be true. A paternal aunt told me the story years ago and I believed it. One day on a plane, though, I was disabused by an American businessman who purported to know the history of the company.

However, I'd rather be named for an aerospace company than a burger manufacturer (even though both - alledgedly - harm the global environment)
