I wouldn't call that "studying", not even "learning". Just catching bits here and there.

It's one of languages that are easy to speak badly, and take a long time to learn to speak properly, IMO. And, BTW, what Latin I had in gimnasia helps, once one gets the way they are transformed in Italian (cf Alexius - Alessio, doctor - dottore etc).

Didn't like them much then, but the words stuck. And well, nowadays, I'm actually picking a few oldies which survived. Gigliola Cinquetti had a few, assorted few from Celentano, and then the legendary rockers of the sixties - seventies: Formula Tre, Lucio Battisti, Premiata Forneria Marconi, even I Pooh...

While I did appreciate Yu-rock before coming here, now I appreciate it even more :). Probably the grass at home is also greener when you're abroad.

I'd pick il mare Adriatico over the Atlantic anytime. The worst thing with the Atlantic, as seen from here, is that it's on the wrong side. I somehow got the "the coast is to the west" notion hardwired into my brain, and actually took a few wrong turns here, specially when driving south. Not only am I having to rotate the map I remembered in my brain for a full pi(), but then the sea is on the wrong side... and I'd take a turn east instead of west :).
