While the windfarms are nothing compared to windmills, they certainly are not a visual pollution... Rather I thought them interesting (and much less of an eyesore than the nuclear plants) I live within an hour of a nuclear power plant here and I was within 10 miles of one when I lived in Schweinfurt, Germany.

The three largest wind farms in the world are at Altamont Pass, California, just east of San Francisco, in the Tehachapi Mountains in Kern County, and at San Gorgonio Pass, just north of Palm Springs.
