Denis,

Malcolm has done a really good job of listing a number of VFP resources on the web for you. I would say that if you haven't checked out tek-tips or the fox.wikis that you probably are missing some really good VFP content.

Tek-Tips has a pretty strict management hand in things, so if posts or threads are off-topic or non-technical they will end up being deleted pretty quick and if a poster is seen to be non-professional then they will end up being barred from the forum quickly as well. This can be good and bad, depends I guess. I've taken issue with management's heavy hand a time or two, but it also keeps the forums very technical. The VFP forums (5 of them as Malcolm has pointed out) have a lot of really good content, the VFP General forum being the largest and oldest of them.

Fox Wikis has some amazing content. If you've never used a Wikis before it can be frustrating to figure out how the whole thing works. All of the content out there can be edited, so if I post some code in a topic and you work up an improvement to my code you can just edit what I posted or add your own stuff to my posted topic. The main drawbacks to the Fox Wikis are its hard to understand what you are supposed to do once you get there and it is sometimes slow to respond (limited bandwidth I suspect). But the VFP members out there and the content make up for those deficiencies in a big way.

>>Then there's the members... you've got Ken Levy posting like a mad man in here, Sergey is in here, Tamar is in here, Craig Bernston is in here, I saw Barbara Peisch poke her head in the other day somewhere, Alex is in here... heck, that's some pretty good company for a VFP developer to be in as far as I'm concerned.

>Is there something happening elsewhere for VFP that we're really missing? You see I exclusively use the UT. Do I really miss that much?

>>Now, all that having been said... I've seen some pretty wicked and unprofessional verbal wars since coming here.

>Stick around. You ain't seen nothing yet <g>

>I guess that many are in a standby mode. We're waiting for the VFP june newsletter. It's all in the hands of Ken Levy. Only he hold to key to a peaceful environment. After that newsletter who knows what will happen. <g>
