There are a number of 3rd-party libraries that will allow you to retrieve information from both NetWare and NT servers. GPLIB and NETLIB are two that come immediately to mind.

However, if you're running the Novell's Client32 for Netware, I'd be willing to bet that there's a login script command that will keep the workstations in sync with the server.
