>I have gradually built my machine backup, but true to form VFP 6.0 and VFP 8.0 will not reinstall. I was able to get VFP 6.0 to go through the reinstall process but when I launch it I get "Resource File Version Mismatch". When I try to reinstall VFP 8.0 I get a screen telling me that it is missing "Prerequisites" and it cannot proceed. I have gone to the Microsoft Web Site and it is silent on VFP 8.0 Prerequisites.

I've had a few workstations where these prerequisites just wouldn't install (XP boxes all, but then one could have been a w2k). After a while I found an alternate install - which you can also do. I've forgotten what exactly were these two components, one should be the latest MDAC. Just download the latest versions of these two from M$, install them separately - and then after you reboot (W2k you still have to do that) the VFP8 install should find them installed already.
