Thanks for responding. see my comment to Cetin. I would then have a form in a form? don't need that overhead. I have used grids for input for a long time but the user wants some different functionality and I am stumped for this solution.

>It is much easier to use the grid only for showing data, not for editing or adding a new record. You can create a new form where the user can edit old records or add a new ones. There you can put all validation you need.
