I have turned off all the auto-update features - yet I still see GWREMIND (I think he is the guy) idling in my "processes" view.

I have also notice when IIS is turned on - and then turned off - the process are still running until a shutdown clears them.

I have discovered something really weird - it may be a JVM issue. I use netscape for personal "browsing". I have two projects, however that "require" IE.

I note that everytime I use IE to test some simple JavaScript (IIS is off - no localhost) routines, a file:
"test[1].htm" is stashed away in IE history and cannot be removed until a system restart. THe delete message tells me that "test[1].htm" is in use by someone else.

Do you get that? I run Disk Clean. Click on "Temporary Internet Files". Click View - then highlight all the folders and files in view except "index.dat" and then delete. If "test[1].htm" is in the list (eg - resulting from IE use) a message will appear saying "test[1].htm is being used by someone" else. Google has no answers - and I don't know who (or what) is creating and "protecting" test[1].htm!

I also note that when I run a VFP EXE from the command window (VFP 8), that I cannot erase it (the VFP.EXE) unless I quit and restart foxpro.

I have also noticed, when I run Apache (and I don't know why) and check the log - there are allsorts of items in the "log" that had nothing to do with my work (like links to CNN or PayPal). I wonder if the "freeness" of Apache has anything to do with it.

LITTLE DIRTY SECRETS: A popular ad-ware remover has been making deals with certain ad-ware vendors and has removed some of those vendors from it's scan list. WHen you download updates, you loose their scan. GO figure!

>The boxes had nothing to do with Sun Java. IOW jusched.exe shouldn't be there in the first place. That makes me think it has really have something to do with a spammer virus. BTW I didn't take my time to check if the exe was really Sun's jusched.exe or someone used it knowing it's trusted among Sun Java users.
