Thanks for your code and suggestion. I'm giving a lot of thought to your idea of using a window vs. toolbar. The original reason I choose a toolbar vs. a window was I didn't want a user to lose focus when they clicked on my object.

Now I'm rethinking that concern ... perhaps a control losing focus isn't that big a deal in the context of my application.

BTW: The background behind my post was that I was using a floating toolbar to display status information - sort of like a non-modal WAIT WINDOW that a user can move or close to fit their needs.
