The OnComm event will fire when data arrives to the COMM port, you put whatever code you want in there, what do you want to do with the EVENTHANDLER, I did not read that in your question, so I do not understand you now, you were trying to put a COMM object without any container, that gives you an error that you can avoid by putting the object in a form.
