Correct you are Mike. The Emperor was not disfigured in AOTC. I watched AOTC the other day with the post from Alex in mind. Sidious was shown as Sideous and not as Palpatine (i.e with the hood) towards the very end of the movie and even though only the bottom part of his face could be seen his fase was not disfigured.

I have wondered why Luke didn't get disfigured by the force lightning in episode VI when Sideous almost killed Luke, just before Vader threw Sideous into the reactor (or whatever it was) of the Death Star II.
