I like the rationalizations given by the media as to why a candidate won or lost an election. In the case of Adlai Stevenson, who ran for President twice and lost to Dwight D. Eisenhower on two occasions the reason given was, “Stevenson is an intellectual”! Now why did GWB win?

Fill in the blanks… :)

Stevenson was Governor of Illinois and known as a politician, statesman, and noted for his skill in debate and oratory. I truly enjoyed listening to him from the time I was 10 years old.

It seems that with the introduction of television it became important for the candiates to smile. Stevenson was not noted for an ability to smile nor is Gore. GWB knows how to smile and can wrinkle his forehead at the same time. :)
