I don't think this is worthless information. It is very early information, maybe, and because of this is not very specific, as they didn't defined so much yet. The team could have just remained quite and let people speculate more.

I think it is quite clear this is NOT VFP 10. It will be and Add-on or complementary product, but it will not be a replacement of the VFP IDE and engine, so to speak. They don't know by now wether it will be a boxed product, a download, an EXE or a bunch of DLLs, I guess, but it will be some way of enhancement toolkit. If it creates lots of questions, it is because they are open to suggestions, as the project is not completely scoped yet.

I really don't see "Microsoft" speaking here. We all know that "Microsoft" at large is probably ignorant or at least unconcerned about this project. I don't mean this is something tthe team could decided absolutely on their own, but I think this is the oice of Ken and the rest speaking right to the community, telling us what they think now. As he stated, the idea is keep reporting on the project monthly and let our feedback influence it (within their possibilities, of course).

Maybe all of us would like to hear more details and specifically something about the features that each of one think would be most useful, but what they are saying is: we will start working on it, and this is the rough draft idea. I think this is much better that not knowing a bit about what's going on.

Of course, this is my point of view, and I don't have more information than you.
