>>One question that I can't see having been answered clearly here is in regard to support. MS has a policy of x years of support based on, as far as I know, version number. If the vfp9 version number isn't changing, will the end of support deadline still be a moving target?

But always remember that support ending in the second half of the next decade (2015 and beyond) for any product doesn't stop anyone from using it. For example, many people both maintain and enhance VFP 6.0 apps today, and VFP 6.0 support ended a few years ago. Plus, we still offer VFP 6.0 full version to MSDN subscribers as a download in case they need it (MSDN all levels include VFP6, 7, 8, 9, all version of Visual Studio, and more) - all full licensed versions.

Yes, I do understand that. The thing is that it occurred to me that there would be little sense in MS carrying on upgrading a product for which support has ended, so if the support deadline is NOT a moving target, then that would pretty much tell us when the VFP enhancements will also stop.
