It is a pitty. ~2000 years ago people invented geometry and started to draw, to graph and to represent mathematical problems graphically to SEE solutions without actually solving with, say, algebra.
You can make estimation with graphs before starting to solve; then when you got a solution, you have good indication whether it is correct or not.
