They "worry" about things highly esoteric while average Joe/Josephine has real problems making ends meet, working longer hours, worrying about their jobs, losing benefits, losing pensions and generally losing more and more ground. The gains of the last 20-30 years have been all but wiped out and we're heading fast to 1930 working/class conditions.

Also France and Holland want to keep their welfare programs and employment protection laws and feel they are under threat.

Jim;

Why give the electorate the right to vote? They have no concept of the complexity of politics and should leave such matters to those who hold office. Surely the average voter lacks the intelligence to vote wisely. After all, how did the politicians get into office? :)
