Obviously, your choices about what development platform to use are none of my business (and vice versa).

However, I'm intrigued by your eagerness to throw overboard the technical and comptetive advantages you may currently have with a VFP-based development platform, based on the question of a version number, when Microsoft has indicated that significant enhancements to VFP9 will be released in two years.

Sounds to me line you were probably already considering a switch to .NET.
Just be sure you don't jump too soon and lose capabilities in the process.
