If both tables are part of a database container, ensure that there is a Primary index on one table and a Candidate index on another with matching keys. Then, drag the index from the parent table to matching child table candidate index. This will define a relationship in the database. Under the Database menu option, select Referential Integrity. The relationship will be shown with selections for Insert,Update,Delete. For Insert, select "Cascade"

Close everything then add a few records to customer. Once you have a feel for this, post back a reply and we'll go from there...
