I just heard this on CBC. A Virgin Airlines flight from England to New York was broadcasting a "hijack signal". Flight crew has been contacted and has indicated that they have not been hijacked. The plane is being diverted to Newfoundland as a precaution.

Canadian fighter jets have intercepted the plane.
