SET REVERB ON
And from the great state of Texas ...
We'll have a guest speaker, Evan Pauley, pitching both ends of a twin bill:
"Automating Map Point from VFP" and "Controlling the SQL Server DMO."
SET REVERB OFF

Map Point is Microsoft's inexpensive mapping tool -- plenty powerful for many common tasks. The DMO is a COM object (Distributed Management Objects) that provides access to administration features of SQL Server. Creating tables, viewing and editing system parameters.

Evan, who is a leading member of the Dallas Fort Worth Fox Pro Developers Group, is working a 6 month gig in our area and volunteered to share some of the presentations he has given down there. Says he'll expound on collections too if time permits.

We are blessed to be in a crossroads (that's The Right Place) and get the benefit of a generous volunteer from the expanded VFP community.

We start a new dues year this meeting. $65 /yr or $10 per meeting (First one free.)

We've got a good line up of speakers; on-deck will be Toni Feltman on Active Fox Pages in July, Rich Simpson on Mind's Eye and VFP 9 in August, Claudio Lasalla comparing VFP with .NET in September.

Also check out the "Road Map for VFP's Future". msdn.microsoft.com/vfoxpro/letters/ It talks about Project SEDNA, a planned Add On for VFP 9 that will give us lots ability to hook up with the rest of Microsoft's tools and systems under development.

We have no reason to be worried about the future. After all we figured out how to make it through the past. It just keeps getting better (that's The Right Time).

Date: Tuesday, June 14, 2005 Time: 5:30 PM
Location: Monadnock Building, 53 W. Jackson Blvd Suite 826 in Chicago's Loop.
