Can't say I've run into anything in Excel that I could automate with XP/SP1 that I no longer can with XP/SP2. The only thing I've run into is when developing on one version of Excel and finding out the automation code itself needs to be different for other versions of Excel (like PivotTables in Excel 2000 and XP (2002) are different).
