VFP is to me the tool of choice for answering most all-programming request I have to deal with. I have not found a single situation that I have not been able to use VFP. Was it always the best tool, probably not, but I know the workarounds to cover up most of its weakness and I am more efficient with it than any other tool.

I would categorize VFP as a database driven application builder that is second to none in its robustness, power, and speed.

My primary reason for using it would be the same as how I categorize it and because of my familiarity with FoxPro.

Among many other things that it does best, FoxPro tends to draw very professional people, who don't mind sharing the knowledge of how to use it most effectively. That would also be a reason that I continue to use VFP as my main tool of choice.
