>I liked the car brochure I saw a few years ago.

I'd take them on their word and ask for a rebate for removing this package :).
Actually, when I bought the car (2nd or later hand)(ooops... in PCspeak that's "pre-owned"), it had this package retrofitted. The ashtray and the lighter were gone. Since the location of the lighter was very bad, in front of the gear shift's base, I didn't even bother finding one. But, ashtrays are a must, and I didn't really feel like making a grand tour of the city looking for one.
The solution of the problem was simple: I permanently keep two cans of 16oz Guinness, with tops removed, half-filled with water, in the appropriate slots where the coffee mug or soda can are supposed to be. I feel drinking (any liquid) while driving is more dangerous than smoking. The dangerous moment when smoking is when you put the cigarette out (sorry, no word in English for "ugasiti" - "extinguish" is Latin, and was used on airplanes only, anyway). With my cans, I simply drop them in, hear the ssss and I know the ember is out.
Actually, if I was into stickers, I'd have in my car the one from "Men in 2 black" - "nagging me about my
smoking may be
hazardous to your
health" (bold stands for double-sized font). You don't want to get the driver mad and raise his pressure...
