Hi Walter,

There are already several websites that have wishlists for enhancements to VFP. Go ahead and post your suggestions. We'll read it.

>
>>Don't confuse enhancements with fixes. As we go through grid bugs, I'm sure we'll pick up some to fix.
>
>Thanks for that. However, there are still a lot of (minor) (desing) problems that would be enormously usefull to the large community if they get solved. Therefore I feel sad that no significant enhancements are going to be made for this control.

>>>One statement bugs about SEDNA me a bit. You specifically mentioned the grid as beeing a control to which no major enhancements will be expected.
>>>
>>>Today, this could be the most powerfull control in VFP, though it has been stated by several MVPs that the grid control is too difficult to use. Therefor a lot of people stay away from this control. This is really sad because the grid is the key to truly data driven technologies (ERP/ERM ala Navision).
>>>
>>>I've done a great deal in grids and have come accross many problems and bugs (which I reported) in handling the grid as a major input tool. A very small example is this.
>>>
>>>Example: I want to use a grid as the primary control in inputting data. If I'm inputting data and I'm at the last column and hit enter or tab, I want to go to the next row or add a new one if allowaddnew is set on. If I'm at the last row and allowaddnew = .F. I just want to tab out of the grid. Additionally if an added record has been unmodified at the last column a enter or tab should tab you out of the control.
>>>
>>>Additionally, if using dnarrow, and at the last record, make it possible to tab out of the control.
>>>
>>>I find this a very usefull feature as it provides a very intuative way of entering data. But to program this into a grid is very, very hard to do reliable. It would be very nice if the VFP grid had native provisions to do so and make that available to other users.
>>>
>>>There are still a lot of (visual) bugs left in VFP (e.g. hiding columns will have a wrong horizontal scrollbar indication and frequently the columns don't line up well (1 pixel per column off))
>>>
>>>Also, form a gui perspective some enhancements like having sunken, raised and custom coloured borders would be nice.
>>>
>>>
>>>Bottom line. The grid is one of the most facination controls in VFP, but often it is very hard to use it in the most efficient way.
>>>
>>>Walter,
