You want to do everything against SQL Server. You can get the Developer Edition of SQL Server for about $50 US.
In addition to the VFP docs, here are some places to get started. Some of these articles are a bit dated and talk about some technologies that are no longer used (RDS for example), but still contain some good information.
>I have a contract to build an application but the client wants the backend in Sql 2000. I have always used VFP for back and front. So should I build it and upsize it? Or build the tables in Sql and connect to them? Either way I have no Idea how I would get the resulting tables on the clients server. Any help in this area would help. I had a friend tell me about an Ini file pointing to the server and database on their Sql Server. What ever that is.... Thanks for the help in advance.
