I don't know if this has been posted here yet, but it was mentioned over on the ProFox list and also was blogged by Craig Berntson today. This eWeek article has a very interesting reference, in about the sixth paragraph, to Visual FoxPro features going into .NET:

Sources said high-level Microsoft architects are focusing on how "Orcas," the follow-on version of Visual Studio, will more easily and efficiently handle data via future versions of both Visual Basic and Visual C#. In fact, Anders Hejlsberg, a top Microsoft software architect, is working on Visual C# 3.0 and has produced compiler technology that accelerates data integration. The Visual Basic team is working to deliver similar functionality, based on Microsoft's FoxPro technology base, sources said.

Sounds like some major changes are going on inside the .NET framework for future versions, to enable things that we VFP people take for granted. I guess it remains to be seen whether they get it right the first time...

Wouldn't you like to know who the "sources" are? :-)
