I tend to lean toward Martin's idea that it will be different technology, perhaps sharing some aspects in common in the .NET runtime (as you suggest), but maybe hooking into some additional VB.NET functionality that is more VFP-like in its syntax.

Maybe they've got some kind of "reverse-osmosis" thing up their sleeves to both enable more efficient VFP->.NET and .NET->VFP stuff. :-)

Anyway, it should be fun to watch and try out when available...
