Seven years ago, I was some sort of a special guest, but more like an apprentice (officially, my company donated some drinks, I think) at the first meeting of the city's veteran programmers. The team there was partly the guys who worked on the then CER computer in the bank (1962, 2nd generation machine, 2K donuts) and the others who worked on the timeshared IBM-360 few years later. The doyen began the meeting with pretty much the same sentence:

"Sclerosis is a wonderful thing - every day you get surprises and learn something new".

What, me reckless? I'm full of recks!
