No apologies needed, but there isn't much more to say. If I put the line of code in question in the INIT event of the OLEControl (wrapper for the ActiveX Treeview control) then it works fine, but if I forego that line (and I've done it too many times to count in haste) then I get the exact error being questioned here. It's one of those quirky things like having to put NODEFAULT in the refresh event of the WebBrowser control.
